Vemdalens Snowmobile Club – Digital trail permits for a smoother mountain experience
A modern solution for communication, payments and trail permits
Vemdalens Snowmobile Club is responsible for maintaining snowmobile trails in a region with high levels of tourism and a large number of riders during the season. With both landowners and snowmobile riders relying on trail permits, the club needed a simple, secure and fully digital solution for memberships, payments and communication.
To replace manual processes and improve contact with users, the club chose the Cardskipper platform.
The challenge
Previously, membership records and trail permits were managed manually, with permits sent by post and payments handled through payment slips, cash and Swish. This approach led to high costs, significant administrative workload and limited opportunities for effective communication.
The club also required better financial oversight, clearer membership data and more secure management of personal information.
The solution
Using the Cardskipper app and member register, Vemdalens Snowmobile Club digitised its trail permits and brought all administration together in a single system. Snowmobile riders and landowners can now purchase permits for the full season or part of it and keep their digital permit readily available on their mobile.
Payments are processed digitally, removing the need for manual handling while providing the club with clear reports and financial summaries. This has improved visibility and control over both finances and membership status.
The app is also used to share important updates with users and plays a central role in the club’s ongoing development — alongside social media channels and future collaborations.
The result
The digital solution has significantly reduced the administrative burden and made it easier to manage operations in a high-demand area with many temporary users. While introducing a new app naturally involves a period of adjustment, the solution has been well-received and is regarded as intuitive and easy to use.
